Fence Installer Insurance Coverages

There are many coverages that may or may not apply to your fence installation business. The list below explains some of the most common that may apply.

General liability Insurance is the most common insurance coverage most fence contractors think of. General Liability primarily covers you if you or your employees hurts someone or their property.

Property Insurance is often less thought about but very important. Property Insurance covers "your" property and premises. Let's say you own a building where your employees pick up fence materials everyday to do jobs. One night your building gets broken into and they not only damage the building but steal some of the fencing you have on hand for upcoming jobs. As you can see this coverage now would be very important, we don't have to tell you much fence materials can cost. That loss could put you in a very bad spot both in the cost of the materials but also in lost income due to the jobs you're not able to do.

Business Owner's Policy, otherwise known as a BOP, combines both general liability and property insurance into one packaged policy. BOPs are not available to all contractors, depending on risk, but luckily they are available to Fence contractors. There are a few reasons we may not use a BOP to cover you but that would be covered during our initial interview.

Workers' Compensation is one of those coverages that seems like a thorn in your side but you can not go without it. Workers' Comp will cover lost wages and medical expenses for the employees of your fence company if they get hurt in the act of performing their jobs.

Commercial Auto coverage covers you and your employees using company vehicles. There is also a coverage for Non Owned auto which can cover you when your employees happen to use their vehicle for your business. As part of our initial interview process we will ask more questions regarding this and identify other coverages that may apply to you.

Umbrella Insurance picks up where your general liability, property and commercial auto limits end. Umbrella poloicies act as excess insurance picking up only if claims are beyond your primary insurance. This makes these policies very affordable and something we will explore as we talk.

Cyber Liability is a coverage protecting your from getting hacked and exposing your customer's private data. Many contractors are now taking credit card payments via the web and smart phones and are more vunerable than ever. You may remember when Target went through this, if you're curious we'll explain how this happened to them.
